Photorejuvenation is an upscale beauty treatment that uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to heat tissues in order to rejuvenate the look of the face and reduce skin’s imperfections (wrinkles, vascular, pigment spots, acne). It naturally promotes the process of cellular regeneration and stimulates the formation of new collagen and elastin fibers. This specialization is aimed at professionals who wish to offer additional service to their customers. The course is offered by knowledgeable instructors and provides a undeniable competitive advantage.
Our online platform walks you through all the theoretical aspects of photorejuvenation over seven chapters, for a total of 21 hours of instruction. Each chapter includes a visual-rich PDF manual as well as a quiz-type evaluation. Quizzes are completed online, and students receive their grade immediately. A few short videos are also available.
Once the online theory class is completed, students must attend an accredited Académie Dectro institution for hands-on training, during which they are called to put into practice what they learned online. The Académie Dectro use the Apilux 3G IPL device (registered by Health Canada) for live model practice sessions and evaluations. Thanks to their many features and pre-set programs, they ensure a safe, professional application.

Practice on models of the different application techniques for the treatment of photorejuvenation with IPL. Treatment steps include:
- Consultation
- Skin examination
- Pre-treatment
- Treatment
- Post-treatment
- Post-treatment recommendations
- Data update in the client’s record
- Cleaning, disinfection and sterilization
A final theoretical evaluation and a final practical evaluation are completed at the Académie. A certificate in photorejuvenation is given at the end of the course. A minimum passing mark of 75% in theory and 80% in practice is required to obtain the certificate.
